Amnesty International
What do we do? During our monthly meetings we regularly sign letters to authorities around the world where human rights defenders need our support. We organise events to publicise Amnesty’s work and its campaigns.
When the UK government needs to be reminded of its duties under human rights conventions and laws we are not afraid to remind them too.
We frequently have speakers to our meetings who come with a breadth and depth of knowledge to inform and inspire us.
We are really pleased to found our new home at St Joseph’s Community Centre and we meet each month. When? It’s easy – the final Thursday of the month at 7.15pm. We generally finish around 9.15-9.30pm. The only exceptions are in August and December when we do not meet.

St Joseph's Food Hub.
Located at St Joseph's Church, Colwyn Bay, St. Joseph's Food Hub was established in 2020 to provide essential foods for individuals and families who need our help on a short term emergency basis.
The Food Hub opens every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 1.30am - 12.30pm.

Little Lights Toddler Group meets at the centre every Tuesday during term time from 9 - 11am.

AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) meeting every Tuesday 1230pm - 3pm and Saturdays at 1230 at the St. Joseph's Community Centre.

Line dancing
Our dance classes are held at St. Joseph's Community Centre on

We are always on the lookout for new dancers to come and join our groups. Tuition given by qualified dance a teacher / choreographer with over 30 years experience.
Ukulele Group
Come along and enjoy music, friendship and fun at our friendly ukulele group. We meet every Wednesday evening frrom 7 - 9pm at St Joseph's Community Centre. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced player, everyone is welcome. Bring your ukulele, learn new songs, improve your playing and enjoy making music together in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Sunday Coffee Morning after Mass
Sunday Coffee Morning happens every Sunday of the month after Mass. Join us for a friendly coffee, everyone is welcome to come along, meet new people and enjoy a relaxed morning together.
Clothes Bank
Situated in the car park, we have a clothes bank for people to drop off and recycled their old and used clothes. Each donation helps to raise money for the centre running costs.
Stage Right
Stage right are a small community drama group who perform for Nursing Homes, Charity Group, and similar venues. We generally concentrate on short comedic sketches of about 10 -15 minutes duration which seems to suit our audiences and ourselves. When we perform we usually do 4 sketches so the attention span is just about an hour. We've just started rehearsing now to perform in early December so if you know of any organisation who might benefit from a performance let me know.
Also we're always looking for new members (especially male) who can pop along any Monday evening at St Joseph's Club 7-9pm.

Friends of St Eugene
The
Friends of St Eugene at St Joseph’s Community Centre meet on the second Thursday of each month from 6.15–9.00pm, gathering as a community of people who seek to learn from the life, mission, and spirituality of St Eugene de Mazenod, founder of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. Rooted in the values of Friendship, Prayer, and Service, members support one another as they explore how St Eugene’s vision can be lived out in their homes, workplaces, and parishes. Guided by their Oblate commitments, the group undertakes practical acts of charity, especially during Advent and Lent,
to assist poor and marginalised people locally and abroad. Friends deepen their relationship with Christ by imitating His life, honouring the dignity of every person, and renewing their commitment annually to the ethos of the movement. Since the canonisation of St Eugene, Friends groups have grown across Britain and Ireland, awakening social conscience through initiatives such as providing Sunday lunches for lonely people, volunteering at food banks, fundraising for African orphanages, and supporting prisoners of conscience. The St Joseph’s group continues this mission, offering a welcoming space where people of all backgrounds can share faith, serve others, and make a meaningful difference in their local community.

Private Functions
The centre is available to hire for private functions and celebrations, including birthday parties, family gatherings, anniversaries and other special occasions. With a welcoming and flexible space, it provides an ideal venue for bringing family and friends together in a comfortable community setting.
